Software Engineer - Devops Automation, Perforce

Join the team responsible for EA's Perforce source control platform, a critical service used across game development worldwide by teams working on Battlefield, FC, Madden, The Sims, and many others.

We are looking for a DevOps engineer with strong Linux experience who enjoys eliminating manual work. If you like turning scripts and repetitive procedures into reliable automation, reducing the need to log directly into servers, and operating infrastructure safely at scale, this role is for you.

This is also a hands-on production role. You will work directly with EA game teams, participate in support rotations and incidents, troubleshoot performance and infrastructure issues, and help improve the reliability and automation of the platform.

Location - Vancouver (Hybrid)

What You'll Do

• Build scalable automation with Ansible

• Develop Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code

• Automate provisioning, configuration, patching, upgrades, and maintenance

• Operate and troubleshoot large Linux environments across cloud, VM, and bare metal

• Participate in support rotations, incident response, and service recovery

• Work directly with game teams on source control, performance, and infrastructure issues

• Improve CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, and platform reliability

Requirements

• 5+ years of DevOps, infrastructure, systems, or platform engineering experience

• 5+ years of strong hands-on Linux administration and troubleshooting experience

• 3+ years of hands-on Ansible experience building and maintaining automation

• Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code

• Strong scripting skills with Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar

• Experience with source control such as Git, SVN, Perforce, ClearCase, or similar

• Experience with production support, CI/CD, monitoring, and logging

• Strong communication skills

• Perforce Helix Core experience

• Azure experience

• Experience supporting large-scale developer platforms

• Game industry experience

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$122,300 - $170,700 CAD

Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.

For Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and other incentive programs.
