JOB SUMMARY

The Function Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end capability, execution excellence, and organizational growth of the Product Validation (PV) function. This role owns multi-project delivery, resource strategy, and validation methodology, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and company objectives across global sites (e.g., Taipei / Austin).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and develop a high-performing PV engineering team across multiple sites
• Define organizational structure, hiring plan, and capability roadmap
• Establish mentoring and succession planning to build future leaders
• Drive a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement
• Define and standardize validation methodology, processes, and best practices
• Own validation strategy across multiple programs (coverage, scope, approach)
• Govern project execution to meet phase gate and release requirements
• Own headcount planning, skill mix optimization, and workload balancing
• Ensure sufficient validation infrastructure (systems, tools, environments)
• Drive cross-site execution model (Taipei / Austin) for scalability
• Define and track key quality and execution metrics, including:
  • Validation coverage completeness
  • Defect detection effectiveness and escape rate
  • Test cycle time and execution efficiency
• Ensure projects achieve validation exit criteria and release readiness
• Lead executive-level technical reviews, risk discussions, and escalations
• Ensure clear communication of status, risks, and mitigation plans
• Define and drive automation and tool strategy aligned with business ROI
• Partner with Automation / AI/ML teams to improve productivity and coverage
• Drive innovation in validation methodology (e.g., automation, AI-assisted testing)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

• Strong understanding of system-level validation
• 10+ years of industry experience with BMC development/validation
• Automation expertise
  • Python or similar
  • Robot Framework
  • Jenkins
  • Selenium or similar
• Demonstrated capability in project management, risk management, and execution governance
• Demonstrated success in leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder influence.
• Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Fluent in English and Chinese, both spoken and written.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering (EE/CE/CS or related field)
• 12+ years of experience in server/storage/network validation or related domain
• 3+ years of experience in leadership role
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing multi-project execution
