Financial Controller
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, strengthening controls, and supporting operational performance across multiple locations. You will analyse profitability, monitor key cost drivers, support budgeting and reporting processes, oversee compliance requirements, and provide valuable financial insights to management. The role also offers the opportunity to work closely with operational teams to improve processes, optimise performance, and support business growth.
Skills & Experience:
- Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Monitor profitability and performance across multiple business units
- Analyse sales, costs, margins, and operational performance metrics
- Ensure accurate reconciliations, controls, and reporting processes
- Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements
- Oversee compliance with statutory and tax requirements
- Support audit processes and maintain strong internal controls
- Develop and improve financial reporting and business intelligence tools
- Partner with operational teams to drive efficiencies and profitability
- Manage and support finance team members where required
- 0-2 years post-articles experience
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and compliance
- Experience within retail, FMCG, multi-site, or operationally focused environments advantageous
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Honours Degree advantageous
- Completed SAICA Articles
