Minimum requirements:
  • Grade 12 / Matric.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or qualification in concrete technology advantageous.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in client liaison and sales at a senior level.
  • Technical background and knowledge of concrete products.
  • Relevant sales and client liaison experience.
  • Strong negotiation and selling skills, with the ability to close sales deals.
  • Excellent written, verbal and telephonic communication skills in English.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word and CE.
  • Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational and customer relationship management skills.
Duties and responsibilities:
  • Maintain professional relationships and a positive company image with clients.
  • Achieve monthly concrete sales volume and value targets for account and cash customers.
  • Maintain and grow the client portfolio by identifying customer needs and opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Promote and price company products in accordance with pricing guidelines.
  • Prepare accurate sales quotations for customers.
  • Price tenders with assistance from technical staff where required.
  • Allocate customer pricing zones correctly and ensure accurate transporter payment allocations.
  • Gather and collate market intelligence to support strategic information and market awareness.
  • Liaise with plant managers and internal sales teams regarding competitor and market information in line with customer requirements.
  • Address and resolve customer queries and problems timeously.
  • Follow up daily on quotations and tenders with sales staff, customers and the broader marketplace.
  • Assist the Commercial Manager with information required to finalise sales action plans.
  • Forecast and control the sales budget.
  • Maintain and develop customer relationships to support ongoing business growth.
