About the Role
Search is being rebuilt in real time. Buyers no longer start with ten blue links - they ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google's AI Overviews, and Claude directly, and increasingly never click through to a website at all. For a payments infrastructure company competing for the attention of CTOs, product leaders, and procurement teams, being the answer these engines give - not just a link they might rank - is now core to how we get found.
We are hiring an AEO/GEO Specialist to treat juspay.io as a product, not a content dump - engineering the on-page and off-page signals that get Juspay cited, quoted, and recommended by AI answer and generative search engines, alongside classic organic search.
What You'll Do
- Own AEO/GEO strategy across juspay.io: audit and optimize entity pages, blog posts, docs, and case studies for extractability and citability by AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other generative engines.
- Architect and maintain structured data / schema markup (FAQ, HowTo, Organization, Product) so machines can parse and quote Juspay content correctly.
- Partner with content, product marketing, and web/dev teams to reshape page structure - headings, answer-first summaries, semantic HTML - so pages can win at the sentence/paragraph level, not just the URL level.
- Run off-page GEO - building citations, mentions, and backlinks from authoritative sources (industry publications, analyst reports, knowledge bases, forums) that generative engines pull from and trust.
- Monitor and benchmark Juspay's presence and share-of-voice inside AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Google AI Overviews) using GEO tracking tools, and report on trends versus competitors.
- Own technical SEO fundamentals (crawlability, indexation, site speed, internal linking, Core Web Vitals) as the substrate both classic search and AI crawlers depend on.
- Work with content marketing to prioritize which topics and entities to build authority around, based on where Juspay is - and isn't - showing up as a cited source.
- Track how each major AI platform sources and weights content, and translate those shifts into an evolving, repeatable playbook for the team.
This Role Requires Real Writing, Not Just Optimization
Half of AEO/GEO is reshaping what already exists - but the other half is starting from a blank page. You should be comfortable writing original, meaningful content from scratch: going deep into the product, researching the topic thoroughly online, and running your own interview process with internal stakeholders (product, engineering, sales) to get the details right. If you'd rather edit than report, research, and write, this isn't the role.
Must-Have Qualities
- Meaningful experience in SEO, content strategy, or growth marketing, with hands-on exposure to AEO/GEO practices (or a demonstrated ability to have picked it up early).
- Working knowledge of structured data/schema markup, technical SEO fundamentals, and how LLM-based answer engines retrieve and cite content.
- Comfort treating a website like a product - thinking in information architecture, page- level experiments, and iterative optimization rather than one-off content drops.
- Analytical rigor - able to set up tracking, read the data, and turn "did that get us cited" into a repeatable process.
- Strong writing instincts;
- Ease working cross-functionally with content, product marketing, and engineering/web teams to ship changes to the live site.
