Job Title: Procurement Engineer

Job Summary

• The successful candidate will coordinate end-user procurement requests, source engineering materials, equipment, spare parts, and technical services, evaluate suppliers, negotiate competitive prices, and ensure timely delivery to support uninterrupted operations.
• Sayed Farms Limited is seeking an experienced Procurement Engineer with an engineering background and at least 3-5 years of relevant experience with engineering service providers serving FMCG and manufacturing industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and manage qualified suppliers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and engineering service providers.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, approved budgets, quality standards, and authorization processes.
• Manage the end-to-end procurement of engineering materials, industrial equipment, spare parts, consumables, and technical services.
• Coordinate, review, and consolidate procurement requests from end-user departments, ensuring clear specifications and compliance with approved procedures.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, prepare reports, monitor supplier performance, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Liaise with engineering, maintenance, production, and other departments to clarify technical specifications and ensure items meet operational requirements.
• Monitor purchase orders, supplier commitments, and delivery schedules to ensure timely procurement and prevent operational delays.
• Obtain and analyse quotations, conduct technical and commercial evaluations, negotiate competitive prices, and recommend suitable suppliers.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of engineering materials, industrial equipment, spare parts, technical specifications, and procurement processes.
• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and negotiation skills, with high integrity and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in ERP/procurement systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Minimum of 3-5 years' relevant experience in engineering procurement, preferably with engineering service providers serving FMCG or manufacturing companies.
• Proven experience coordinating end-user requests, supplier sourcing, technical and commercial evaluations, and price negotiations.
