We manage assets on behalf of many of the world's largest asset owners and asset managers, including public and corporate pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, wealth management providers, endowments, and foundations. We deliver bespoke investment mandates, pooled vehicles, and advice designed to address the distinct objectives and constraints of institutional and wealth management clients.
The Position
The Solutions Co-op will gain exposure to many aspects of the investment process and will be involved in various investment activities. The Co-op will be exposed to multi-asset class investing and allocation strategies, investment research, portfolio implementation, monitoring and analysis, and gain insight into the linkages between investors, systems and supporting functions. The Co-op will work closely with various teams within Solutions, including the multi-asset and leadership teams, to work on key projects related to our tactical asset allocation process, liability driven investing and risk oversight, periodic tasks and investment research needs.
The Co-op will be exposed to the following activities:
Investment research and portfolio analysis
Macro research and analysis
Portfolio implementation (model trading, KPI review)
Investment risk measurement and reporting
Operational risk monitoring and reporting
Business management activities
Qualifications
The role of an Undergraduate Co-op in Solutions requires demonstrated analytical and technical skills, attention to detail and a strong interest in markets, investing and process expertise. The individual will interact closely with portfolio managers, strategists and analysts, investment and operational risk managers, business managers, product managers, and other functions across the firm.
We seek individuals who possess the analytical skills and ability to organize and interpret data to reach conclusions, strong technical skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, and an interest in business processes. A positive, collegial attitude and high level of professionalism are essential, as is initiative and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with tight deadlines. Further, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Strong academic track record and demonstrated quantitative and numerical analytical skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and with a team
Creativity, thoroughness, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize
Humility, natural curiosity and an excellent sense of humor
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially with Excel, Python experience, as well as experience with large database structures, Matlab, Visual Basic and / or SQL
Exposure to investment tools such as Bloomberg, FactSet, DataStream, Haver etc.

Candidates must have prior co-op experience, as this position requires a foundational understanding of professional workplace dynamics and responsibilities.

At Wellington Management, our approach to compensation is designed to help us attract, inspire and retain the best talent in our industry. We strive to pay employees fairly and competitively across all levels and roles. Our approach to compensation considers all aspects of total compensation; all employees are eligible to receive salary, variable compensation, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is:
$19-$35 per hourThis range takes into accountthe wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.
Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
